As part of Malacañang’s initiative to digitize government operations, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) held a ceremony yesterday at the Bataan People’s Center for the eGovPH App Launch and eLGU Kick-Off.
In his message, Governor Jose Enrique Garcia III expressed his gratitude to the DICT and assured the national agency that the Provincial Government of Bataan is committed to enhancing government services through modernization. This effort began with the establishment of The Bunker, a government one-stop-shop service center for faster transactions with national and local government offices.
The governor also encouraged Bataeños to download the eGovPH app to access the national government’s online services. The application is available for both iOS and Android users.
Moreover, DICT Assistant Secretary Edwin Ligot emphasized that integrating various government services into a single digital platform aims to enhance government transparency and efficiency. This system will streamline and automate these processes, significantly reducing bureaucratic layers and improving service delivery to citizens.
Twelve local government units in the province expressed their commitment and support for the DICT’s initiative, including the City Government of Balanga under the leadership of Mayor Francis Garcia and the Municipal Government of Abucay led by Mayor Robin Tagle, who both personally attended the event.
Representatives from the Anti-Red Tape Authority, Presidential Management Staff, Department of the Interior and Local Government, Department of Trade and Industry, Philippine Statistics Authority, and Bureau of Fire Protection were also present during the launch.
